2018 MSI Annual Meeting + Wear and Carry Seminar

MSI will be holding board and officer elections during our annual meeting on September 8, 2018 from 12:30-1:30p.  There will be a short half hour break, and then we will be hosting a Wear and Carry Seminar open to the public from 2:00p - 4:30p.  MSI Members may attend the training free of charge.  Non-members can pay $30 at the door to attend.  It is an exceptional value either way!

There will be several positions up for election:
2x Board of Directors
Vice President

Of those seats up for election, all current seat-holders are running for re-election except one Board of Directors member who will not.  If you would like to submit your nomination for any of those positions and have been a member of at least 2 years, please send your submission to  by midnight on Friday, August 31.

After the nominations have been compiled, an online ballot will be e-mailed out to all members eligible to vote.  Those who plan to attend may vote at the annual meeting; those who cannot should use the online ballot.

Maryland Shall Issue has joined the AGC!

MSI is now an AGC club!

Maryland Shall Issue, inc. is proud to announce that it has formally joined the Associated Gun Clubs of Baltimore (AGC) as an Associated Club. Therefore, anyone who is a current member of MSI in good standing is eligible to purchase an AGC range badge upon completion of a range safety orientation. This is an important benefit for members as the AGC range is one of the finest shooting facilities on the East Coast.

Whalen v Handgun Permit Review Board Argued Before the Maryland Court of Special Appeals

In this case, the appellant, Holmes Whalen, was denied a carry permit by the Maryland State Police and that denial was sustained by the Handgun Permit Review Board.  Mr. Whalen challenged that denial in circuit court, contending Maryland's "good and substantial reason" requirement for a carry permit was unconstitutional and that prior Maryland precedent have been superseded by subsequent Supreme Court holdings.
