SB100 is the bill you are thinking of and it never made it out for a vote.

We've shared a post or two on MDShooters, fchan. Don't know what they say in the Army, but welcome aboard!

Thanks to everyone that used their MDShooters username, so we already know who most everyone is. I can't remember most peoples real names, but usernames I usually can recall, and faces - always.

"...show them your support for gun rights" says NRA's Shannon Alford, she continues that an email or a phone call is important, but nothing has a bigger impact than talking directly to your representative. “Your voice in Annapolis is your vote in Annapolis,” says Alford.

I didn't know about this forum until I renewed my MSI membership. Thanks.

Also I see many of MSI leadership finally onboard for getting ahead of liberals progressive attitudes
on UBC with possible some sorta universal authorized ID that has predetermined BC, CCW etc that should be good for 5 years or so.
Seems to me Federal CCW permit holders have this ability already.

can you help me re MD Shooters? I am a member of MSI and I have tried to sign up for MD Shooters, too. But, I never get an email after registration and I have tried to register a few times. Now, I am FORBIDDEN to their .com site and forums! Why? How do I get this taken care of? I have never participated in a MD Shooter forum.

I have my HQL, am 74 (maybe my lack of computer skills show), am applying for my FLL (in home, but for internet and show sales, in Columbia, MD), studying for AGI testing for Certified Glocksmith and Law Enforcement Armorer. I need to learn and to participate on here to be effective.

Just learned of MSI. Long time fire arm owner and given the current state of our country, I am getting very interested in protection and the (and necessity) to carry a firearm. These no carry laws are creating to many safe zones for criminals and terrorist. Before joining we read through many of the forum posts and agree with the Home Page mission statement suggestion. I joined only to the forum because I did not see very much action regarding the MD W&C laws. MSI appears to be more concerned with the HQL. IMHO, the HQL while inconvenient, really isn't that bad. Doing through background checks and ensuring proper education before issuing a permit isn't necessarily a bad thing. I understand the issue about "rights", but fight the fight that needs fighting. Given the anti gun community the security they want by ensuring that people who are issued a permit, have the proper training to carry and use it. I mean lets face it, a criminal isn't going to go through all that anyway. Anyone who thinks that restrictive guns laws make them safer is facing the cold truth until it hits close to home. A great example is the anti gun Senator who shot and killed an intruder in his home. Who's fooling who?

I don't want to ruffle feathers as a new member, but I would like to see a strong offensive push to change MD's W&C laws so that we can legally protect ourselves sooner rather than later. Changing the HQL will not make use safer. (Just my 2 cents)

Looking forward to the continuing education I will receive here and thank you for such an organization.

HD, firstly, welcome!

With regards to your concerns, we feel your pain. While it may seem like we are "focused" on the HQL, it's one area that we can be proactive on right now. Our first and foremost priority is changing the current may issue to shall issue, but given that this has been heard and ruled upon by the 4th circuit, it only leaves us with the option to work at it through legislation. As you are aware, this is a very tough road in this state, but we will never give up on that.
